With the atmospherical survival thriller Green Room, director Jeremy Saulnier made one of the best and most suspenseful genre films for the last few years. And with Imogen Poots, Patrick Stewart and Anton Yelchin, who unfortunately died way too early, the cast is quite nice as well. Due to its graphic violence, Green Room was rated R in the US ( for strong brutal graphic violence, gory images, language and some drug content).

In France, the movie was rated rather low so that even 12-year-olds could go see it in the movie theater. But in order to do so, a few gory details needed to be cut. As a result, alternaate footage is being used which is similar to the alterations often made in the US in oder to satisfy the MPAA. The French DVD contains that very censored Theatrical Version. However, the French Blu-ray is uncut and uncensored and it is named "Director's Cut" (even though it is basically just the regular Uncut Version). But unlike the French DVD, a minimum age of 16 is required to get that Blu-ray.

Compared are the cut French DVD by M6 Vidéo and the uncut German DVD by Universum Film.
