Compared are the TV Version and the Extended Version.
11 differences, among them 4 with alternative footage Length difference: 48.7 sec The Blu-ray release only contains the TV versions of the episodes, as was the case with the first season. Those who know the DVD releases from the USA or Great Britain will surely miss the extended versions, which can be found on these DVDs. Episode 2x15 (The One Where Ross and Rachel... You Know) is almost one minute longer. There's more footage of Tom Selleck's first appearance plus Jennifer Aniston may say "Come on, touch my butt!". Nice. Other than that, there are many little and trivial differences - business as usual. 01:50-01:51
Black screen after the opening credits. + 1.1 sec 07:21 Dr. Burke takes another look in the kitchen and jokes around: "They're picking teams to play Guess My Prescription. Help me!" 5.8 sec
09:21 Rachel orders more distinctly: "Come on, touch my butt!" Ross is unable to cope and says "No." 3.2 sec
Alternate 09:43-09:50 The TV Version tracks to the left side during the second exterior shot while the Extended Version contains a steady shot (please see the second screenshot resp. the end of the tracking shot in the TV Version). Furthermore, only the TV Version contains a longer black screen due to an upcoming commercial break. TV Version 0.9 sec longer
Alternate 10:23-10:28 In the Extended Version, Ross says his date had already taken place 14 hours ago (resp. that they had been sitting in front of the TV all the time) from a closer angle. Subsequently, Joey says: "Woah. We have to set the clock on this thing!" The following distance shot starts earlier and Chandler wants to know how it went. The TV Version sticks to the distance shot for an extended period, Ross states the same. In following profile shot, Chandler immediately wants to know how it went. Extended Version 5.4 sec longer
10:49 Ross also says: "It could have been worse. I could have been naked." Joey and Chandler agree with a laugh and he goes on: "I mean, I just..." 8.9 sec
11:18 Typical TV cut for time reasons. Because Chandler and Joey feel disturbed resp. the former made it quite clear with his comment, Ross and Rachel agree to go outside. Rachel: "Hallway?" Ross: "Yeah." 5.1 sec
Alternate 12:03-12:05 Alternate exterior shot before the episode continues at Dr. Burke's medical center. Extended Version 9 sec longer
15:06-15:07 Ross's conversation with Monica is longer after she unfolded her date with Dr. Burke. Monica: "Here we go..." Ross: "No, I think it's great that he's like 50. I mean uh...he'll be an inspiration to men who are almost retired all over the world." In the TV Version, the previous shot of Monica is slightly longer (no screens). Extended Version 11.8 sec longer
Alternate 16:07-16:08 Rachel spots something about Ross' work-related commentaries (he said with all the sloppyness, one might as well have given the Homo Habilus a microwave): "Well, clearly, honey, he'd have no place to plug it in." She laughs but Ross remains silent. Then she says "Sorry." The TV Version only contains a different part of the shot of Rachel as trasition. Extended Version 8.2 sec longer
22:06 The transition from the last scene at the museum to Chandler and Joey before Beavis & Butt-Head is slightly longer. 2 sec |
