Compared are the cut US DVD (Shriek Show / R) and the uncut Theatrical Version (UK Blu-ray by 88 Films/ BBFC 18).
- 2 relevant differences - Length difference: 24.5 sec There are serval jump cuts with a length of less than 1 sec that will not be listed in the following comparison. Just Before Dawn is a rather solid slasher that has been available on DVD for quite some time now. In 2013, Code Red released a Blu-ray in the US and in July 2017, 88 Films did the same in the UK. The alterations of the here compared US DVD by Shriek Show are a joke. And at least from today's point of view, this goes for the entire release. Compared to the uncut Theatrical Version, the US DVD lacks approx. half a minute but here is the kicker: Only 2 scenes with a total length difference of 2.8 sec only (!) are actually cut. The remaining difference results from an additional black screen at the beginning, a longer black screen subsequent to the end credits and numerous jump cuts. Time index refers to US DVD (in NTSC) / Theatrical Version (Blu-ray) 00:00 / 00:00
