Compared are the censored US TV Version and the uncensored Extended Version (both available on the US Blu-ray)
- 12 differences, among them 3 scenes with altered audio - length difference: 68.4 sec (= 1:08 min) It is no news that there were a few Extended Versions for previous episodes of The Walking Dead. As for season 6, this is also the case: Negan's speech in the final episode was shot twice because F-bombs and nudity are a problem for shows on basic cable and the US Blu-ray contains both the regular TV Version (aka the version that aired on AMC) and the uncensored Extended Version. Curiously enough, there are further alterations that had not been announced - probably because they are rather unspectacular but that does not change the fact that it is worth mentioning just like the additional 23 F-bombs Negan uses in the season finale. Those further alterations are the reason why the Extended Version is longer in the first place because the speech Negan gave on AMC only contains alternate footage with the same length or altered audio. As for season 6 itself, there is another surprise: The Blu-ray also contains an alternate version of episode 10. The reason is simple: Rick's choice of words. The result is an alternate take on Blu-ray. Time index refers to TV Version US Blu-ray / Extended Version US Blu-ray 30:37 / 30:37-31:44
After the attack in the woods and the black screen due to a commercial break, the Extended Version contains an additional scene with Morgan. He is riding across the ghost town for a while and the sound of bells is audible in the background. 66.7 sec (= 1:07 min)
Alternate 53:44-53:59 / 54:51-55:05 Alternate take. Negan swears plus his voice is pitched differently: "You killed more of my people. Not cool. Not fucking cool. You have no fucking idea how not fucking cool that shit is." TV Version 0.8 sec longer
Alternate 54:05-54:32 / 55:11-55:38 At first, Negan uses the same words here. To be more specific, he says Rick would regret betraying him. In the TV Version, Negan emphasizes his statement with "Yes, you are!". On Blu-ray, Negan's choice of words slightly differs: "Fuck yeah, you are!" Negan's subsequent comments are also different but basically, there are just a few missing or added (depending on the point of view) F-bombs: "You see, Rick, whatever you do, no matter fucking what, you don't (do not) mess with the new world order. And the new world order is this, and it's really very simple. (So,) even if you're fucking stupid, which you very may well be..." no difference
Alternate 55:28-55:39 / 56:34-56:45 After quite some time without any alteration whatsoever, alternate footage has been used here. Negan: "But swallow it you most certainly motherfucking will. You ruled the roost." Extended Version 0.4 sec longer
Alternate 55:56-56:10 / 57:02-57:16 Negan: "You are not safe. Not even fucking close. In fact, you are fucked (pegged), more fucked (pegged) if you don't give me (do) what I want. And what I want is half your shit." TV Version 0.3 sec longer
Altered Audio Track 56:27-56:33 / 57:33-57:39 Since one does not get to see Negan's mouth here, the footage is identical while the comment is a bit different. Negan: "So, if someone knocks on your door you fucking let us in."
Alternate 56:33-56:45 / 57:39-57:48 When Negan keeps talking, the TV Version sticks to the medium long shot for a little while. After that, an alternate take follows. Negan: "We own that fucking door. You try to fucking stop us (and) we will fucking knock that fucker (it) down." TV Version 2.8 sec longer
Alternate 57:11-57:25 / 58:14-58:30 Negan: "I want you to work for me. And You can't do that if you're fucking dead, now, can you? I'm not growing a garden." Extended Version 1.7 sec longer
Altered Audio Track 57:25-57:32 / 58:30-58:37 The subsequent shot contains a different comment - the shot itself remains unchanged. Negan: "But you killed my people, a whole fucking damn..."
Alternate 57:32-57:38 / 58:37-58:47 ...and he ends his comment with "lot of them" - the shot is the same. The Blu-ray on the other hand contains a closer shot of Negan and in addition to that, he uses the words "shitload of them" instead. After that, an alternate take with a slightly longer comment: "More than I'm comfortable with. And for that, well for that you're gonna fucking pay." Extended Version 3.9 sec longer
Alternate 57:44-57:58 / 58:53-59:06 After a few identical reaction shots, more alternate takes follow. Of course, Negan's choice of words is also different: "I'm gonna beat the holy fuck-fucking-fuckedy-fuck (hell) outta one of you." TV Version 0.4 sec longer
Altered Audio Track 59:33 / 60:41 When Negan turns to Maggie, one final alteration has been made (the footage is the same though): "You look fucking shitty."
