Comparison between the First US Release and the Uncut Version.

When the Dragon Ball Z came to the US, they were at first censored in some scenes.
Movie number three (The Tree of Might) was especially affected by this, including cuts, retouching and redrawing. Movie number 7 (Super Android 13) was the least altered movie, only 0,16 seconds were replaced with a special effect.

Movie 3 – The Tree of Might:

The editor really had a go at this movie. Besides regular censoring like cuts, he copied some shots from one part of the movie to another. Some scenes have been quite stretched because of this.

In order to tell the two different kinds of alterations apart, they will be formatted like this:
- Cuts with a censoring background will be written in plain black
- Extensions in the US version will be written in blue

There are 46 alterations in total. 19.5 seconds were censored, however, the cut version is 131 seconds longer because of its unnecessary extensions.
4:25
The US Version repeats a few scenes which have already been shown.
US Version 8 Sec. longer

This footage is not included in the Japanese version and has to stem from Funimation or the anime.
