Blood Simple

Comparison:

  • Theatrical Version
  • Director's Cut
Release: Nov 03, 2009 - Author: Eiskaltes Grab - Translator: Gladion - external link: IMDB
The uncut FSK 18-DVD by Columbia/Foxton (Director's Cut) has been compared to the uncut FSK 16-VHS by VPS (Theatrical Version).

There are 39 differences of 2 minutes and 33,5 Seconds:

28 cuts in the DC = 3 minutes and 16 Seconds.
10 extended scenes in the DC = +40.5 Seconds.
1 alternative scene = +2 Seconds.

The movie Blood Simple proves that a Director's Cut isn't necessarily always the longer version. Here, the DC is about 2.5 minutes shorter than the Theatrical Version. Apart from missing plot scenes and shots in the DC, a few extended shots have been added that were not shown in movie theaters. Also, many pointless shots of less than one second are missing that were not included in the cut report since those might only be film tears.
