Comparison between the cesnored UK VHS released by Avatar (BBFC 18) and the uncut Austrian DVD released by XT-Video.
Overall, there are 9 missing scenes with an overall runtime of 29 seconds.
In some countries, "Amazonia" was released under the title "Cannibal Holocaust 2" - it's more than obvious that this was just a marketing strategy since the movie has nothing to do with Rugero Deodato's controversial cannibal movie. Allegedly, the story was based on a real story: Young Catherine travels through jungles with her parents. The nightmare begins when Catherine's parents are killed and she gets kidnapped by the natives who bring her to their camp. There, she falls in love with Omukai, whom she at first assumed to be her parents' killer. However, things take a sudden twist and in the end Omukai tries to help her finding her parents' murderer and escaping from the jungle.
As far as we are informed, the only way this movie has been released in the UK is a shortened VHS released by Avatar which is missing out on some of the more violent scenes. According to the BBFC's database there also exists a VHS released by Pegasus in 1993 which offers less cuts that the Avatar-VHS.
