Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Comparison:

  • DVD-Version
  • Blu-ray-Version
Release: Sep 23, 2011 - Author: Bob - Translator: Mr Miau - external link: IMDB
The optical differences in Episode II: Attack of the Clones are not too many. In contrast to Episode I, there is no completely new set of color filters but only slight changes in a few scenes. The two biggest changes can be seen in this report. The change in Anakin's nightmare is completely new. The alteration in the scene order at the end probably was not the best thing to do.

There are a few significant changes regarding color in additional to the generally a bit more green picture. One example:

12:40 | 12:08
The green color is especially noticeable during the second hit attempt on Padme, when the glying robot drops the centipede in her bedroom. Note the skyline in the background, even in the Blu-ray version it is not that green just a few shots later. One could think this is because of the robot's green light, but it only flies sideways here and the light is still turned off.

A slighlty different version of one scene in the chase-sequence.

Blu-rayDVD

58:56 | 56:31
During Anakin'S nightmare, in which he sees his woman in danger, we can now hear his mother calling out for him and not just him talking in hiis sleep.

The scene in which Count Dooku flees was recut, the DVD version is better though.
