The cut British VHS by Guild Home Video (BBFC 18) has been compared to the uncut DVD by Kinowelt (FSK 16)

In the mystery thriller Angel Heart you can see Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro at the top of their game while charming Lisa Bonet takes on a supporting role. In the UK the film was already censored on VHS despite the highest rating BBFC 18 and it was the same even in 2009 on Blu-ray. The Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937 is still strict about scenes with animal violence and so a scene with a cockfight had to be removed.
