Kiss Kiss, Kill Kill

Private detective Jo Walker receives an order from a mysterious beauty to search for a missing nuclear scientist. Meanwhile, a series of murders among industrialists keeps police officer Tom Rowland busy. Arms dealer O'Brien fears falling victim to the next attack, as two of his former business partners have already been wiped out. Their investigation brings Jo and Rowland together. Together they hunt down the unknown

With its snappy opening song and a brilliant opening scene in which Jo and Rowland engage in a playful duel, it is clear that the intention here was to hang on to great role model James Bond. Tony Kendall as Jo Walker aka. Inspector X plays the chauvinistic, pattering private detective who plunges into many an adventure in which he is assisted by Brad Harris as the inspector. The pace of the first part of the Kommissar X series is incredibly fast, with lots of action, wild ideas and plenty of pretty women. A highlight of the Eurospy genre.

US DVD shortened and in full screen

In the US, the film was released on DVD along with the first two sequels by Retromedia in a Kommissar X Collection. The two women on the cover do not appear in the film, of course. The version has poor picture quality and was zoomed to full screen via Pan&Scan. Because of this, image information is lost on the left and right. Furthermore, it is a shortened version, which partly has similar cuts as the German TV version.

Short misses of less than a second are not mentioned in the report.

Jo: "I understand even more."
Rowland: "Where is Nancy Wright's body?"
Doctor: "Still on the dissection table over there. Press the second button. Frank come to after all."

Rowland presses the button and the table goes up. Instead of the body, there are only pillows.

Doctor: "Now I don't understand anything anymore."
Jo: "There was that strange mark on Nancy Wright's chest. Do they have a Geiger counter?"
Doctor: "Yes."
Rowland: "What do you need a Geiger counter for?"
Jo: "The girl had a burn from radioactive radiation. That's why they made the body disappear."

A man comes up to Rowland.

Man: "Captain Rowland. Sergeant Flesher asks you to come to this address immediately."
Rowland: "This is Nancy Wright's apartment."
Jo: "Will you lend us your Geiger counter, doctor?"
Doctor: "Of course! Come with me."

Pat gets impatient and knocks on the window. A policeman comes up to her.

Pat: "Will it be long before Captain Rowland arrives?"
Policeman: "It can only be a matter of minutes. He should be here by now."
