This DtV sequel of the motion picture Street Kings with Keanu Reeves from 2008 is a cheesy cop thriller starring Ray Liotta. The plot about crooked fuzz is stereotype and lame and the action part is not even worth mentioning. Especially in this genre, the audience has actually seen everything, so it wouldn't be a big deal at all if Street Kings: Motor City didn't even exist.
But what's incredibly interesting: two versions were released in the US. Besides the Unrated Version, 20th Century Fox came up with an R-Rated Version (for violence, language, some sexual content/nudity and brief drug use) exclusively for some US video stores like Redbox because they don't want any movies that didn't get rated in their assortment. But this time it's freaking weird because the R-Rated Version of Street Kings: Motor City is longer. A plot scene that couldn't be more trivial has been added to the R-Rated Version (or removed from the Unrated, depending on your POV). It's common knowledge that some Unrated Versions are just a cash cow because the only difference are some added trivial plot scenes in the Unrated Version but this time it's different. One might get the impression that the label screwed up. If that was true, it emphasizes the pettiness of this particular scene if it hadn't even been noticed at 20th Century Fox. Compared are the R-Rated DVD and the Unrated DVD (both released by 20th Century Fox). 1 additional scene in the R-Rated Version: 44.44 sec Additional scene in the R-Rated Version
