There is no need to make many words about the hilarious TV show "ALF". You doesn't know it has at least heard of it even though it has been quite some time since something new from the ALF universe was released. Anyway, the show consists of 4 seasons and aired in the late 80s and early 90s. Furthermore, there are two animated series ("ALF: The Animated Series" & ALF Tales) and a motion picture from the mid 90s.
As to the US Versions, a few minutes of each episode were cut for syndication in order to show more commercials. Unfortunately, these syndication versions were also released on DVD. Understandably, the fans were disappointed that the DVDs do not contain the uncut episodes. Whether or not the uncut episodes will be released one day (perhaps on Blu-ray?) is the million dollar question.
Katherine: I mean, what are we going to do with Alf?
Willie: SeaWorld! Brian will love that! They've got - The new killer whales are in! And look at those beaches! Lynn will have a great time!
Katherine: What about Alf?
Alf: I'm sorry! From here on, a different shot of Alf was used.
US Version: 1 sec.
German Version: 14,5 sec.
The intro was shortened a bit. Alf's perspective of him opening a door and entering the room is missing.
Another small part of the intro is missing. Alf wants to get something out of the fridge and Katherine smacks his hand away.
Katherine: Before we gloss over this kennel business!
Alf: It could be fun! Singing songs around the campfire! Eating pork and beans out of a tin can! Being together 24 hours a day! Learning to accept each others little idiosyncrasies!
Alf and the Tanners can be seen longer sitting in a trailer during a rainy afternoon.
Lynn (Voice Over): Dead Lash, day number two and it's still raining! I think we're in hell! Please rescue me!
Alf: Is it just me, or are the walls closing in?
Katherine, Lynn and Brian are looking out of the door window in search for Alf.
Lynn: Where could he be?
Brian: Is that him?
Katherine: No, I think that's just a rotted tree stump!
All are looking to Willie, who is playing a board game with himself. Katherine is sitting down next to him.
Lynn: Dad, how can you play at a time like this? Alf is all alone out there!
Brian: He might get caught in a bear trap!
Katherine: And it will be getting dark soon, Willie!
Lynn: Maybe we better call the police!
Katherine: No, to be a missing person, he'd have to be missing for 24 hours and be a person!
In the German Version Alf is running to a table and hides under it, the US Version shows the two guys entering the cabin instead.
No difference in running time
Alf: If you release me, I'll grant you three wishes!
Typ: Wait a second! You're not a magical creature! You're just an ordinary talking anteater!
Alf: Well, look it up!
Guy to his buddy: I'm telling you, that thing can talk!
Alf to Willie: I can't believe those guys can talk!
Guy: What was that?
Willie: I said I was gonna take him for a walk!
Alf and Willie go outside.
