Compared are the TV Version and the extended DVD Version (both available on thd DVD Box "Volume 3").

1 new scene with a length of 36.4 sec
+ 1 audio censorship in the TV Version

Family Guy is a huge success on FOX. But some modifications need to be made to get permission to air it on FOX because some gags are too rude for TV. Other gags have only been removed to reach the appropiate length for an episode on TV, which means not all the differences were made due to censorship. Nevertheless there are still enough hilarious, outrages gags in it so that fans are gonna have lots of fun with watching the TV Version on FOX. (I'm speaking from experience.)

BTW It airs every sunday evening on FOX. That's really nice because you can also watch the new American Dad episode and new episode of The Cleveland Show. So you've got a terrific triple feature. And when you're watching FOX anyway, you can also watch the latest Simpsons episode. I can really imagine worse evening than watching the latest episodes of the series by Seth MacFarlane plus some new adventures of Homer & Co.

One of many examples is the 6th episode of season 6: "Petarded". In comparison to the TV Version, it's got two differences.

One the one hand we have the typical censored audio track. While the creators avoided the F-Word in the beginning, this episode contains it twice when Brian has an outburst of rage. As usual, the evil F-Word has been beeped for the TV Version. Of course Brian can swear without restrictions or anything in the DVD Version.

The second modification is sth. entirely different: a completely new scene has been added. Now there's also one of Peter's famous musical numbers in it. According to the audio commentary, the scene was cut out for TV because the word "retarded" was used too often (that's what Peter's being called very often at the end of the episode).

Time index refers to the TV Version.

Please note:

There is no longer / uncensored DVD Version of the first 5 episodes of season 4.
Audio modification

When Brian loses his temper and Peter yells at him triumphantly, he swears uncensored in the DVD Version: "Yeah! In your fucking face, fuckwad!"

no difference

Also in the TV Version: of all people, Peter asks Joe for advice about his disability. Joe of course can just explain that Peter was mentally handicapped but Joe was physically. Then the TV Version cuts to Lois and Peter and the restaurant.
In the DVD Version, a nice little musical number follows: Joe calls a lot of people and tells them about Peter's handicap (all dialogs are sung)

Joe: "Hi, Cleveland!"
Cleveland: "Hi, Joseph! What's the story? Morning glory? What's the word, hummingird?"
Joe: "Have you heard? Peter Griffin is slow!"
Some women on the phone (via splitscreen): "Can he still drive a car? Can he drink at a bar? Will they have him let kids? Is his life on the skids?"
Quagmire: "Hello, Mrs. Griffin, it's your neighbor, Quagmire. Now that Peter's mental you probably have some needs..."
Some characters are still dancing. They repeat "He's retarded! Peter is slow!" all the time.
