Compared are the cut episodes on the US DVD by Lions Gate / FOX and the uncut episodes on the German DVD by Warner Home Video.

The differences:

2 cuts = 1 minute and 34 seconds.
2 alternate scenes = 51 seconds.

There is no need to make many words about the hilarious TV show "ALF". You doesn't know it has at least heard of it even though it has been quite some time since something new from the ALF universe was released. Anyway, the show consists of 4 seasons and aired in the late 80s and early 90s. Furthermore, there are two animated series ("ALF: The Animated Series" & ALF Tales) and a motion picture from the mid 90s.


As to the US Versions, a few minutes of each episode were cut for syndication in order to show more commercials. Unfortunately, these syndication versions were also released on DVD. Understandably, the fans were disappointed that the DVDs do not contain the uncut episodes. Whether or not the uncut episodes will be released one day (perhaps on Blu-ray?) is the million dollar question.

ALF is working on his "vehicle" in the living room.
Alf: Nothing like the smell of a new car! He honks several times.
Alf: Yeah!
Kate and Lynn come out of the kitchen.
Katherine: What... is that?
Alf: My new wheels! This will really impress the chicks! Are you impressed?
Katherine: No!
Alf: I was talking to the chick, not the mother hen!
Lynn: What is that thing?
Alf: It's not a thing! It's an Alf Romeo!
Lynn: How did you make it?
Alf: Well, out of a bunch of useless junk! I got the brakes from your bicycle, the engine from Willie's lawn mower and the seat cover from Kate's wedding dress!
Katherine: Alf!
Alf: Were you planning to wear it again?

ALF starts his vehicle and it drives off. Then a loud crashing noise. The camera sticks to ALF though and he looks startled. His vehicle hit a table and destroyed it. After a shot of Kate and Lynn, ALF says: Great! Now I have to build a tow truck!

Now the opening in the US Version. But as always, the opening is slightly shorter: the shot from ALF's POV opening a door and entering the room is missing. Also business as usual: the shot of ALF trying to grab the pie in the fridge plus Kate slapping on his hand because of that is missing.
