Action, action, actionInfluential businessman D'Angelo is the boss of a drug cartel that smuggles and distributes drugs on a large scale. When the student Tina finds out that her boyfriend Ken is working as a dealer, a fight occurs during which Tina accidentally falls and dies from a head injury. D'Angelo's man for the dirty work is Mr. No Legs, who has installed two shotguns in his wheelchair. No Legs takes care of Ken and makes sure that the bodies disappear. When tough cop Andy learns that his sister Tina has been murdered, he and his partner Chuck do everything they can to stop the gangsters. Thick moustaches, tough cops, casual pimps, hot chicks, deadly shootings and wild chases are the hallmarks of The Amazing Mr. No Legs, but the reason why we are curiously pressing the play button on our remote control is because Ted Vollrath is playing the role of Mr. No Legs, who is all about the name and who whacks his enemies with shotguns he has built into his wheelchair. But that is not all. He has deadly Ninja stars on his tires and when it comes to close combat, he'll knock the socks off just about anyone with his Kung Fu tricks. The movie is the hottest shit around. Forget the unimaginative plot about something with drugs and a dead sister, because when the super cops Cuck and Andy take care of something, there is lead in the air. Drugs in a box, fucked up guys in their mid-30s who are introduced to us as freshmen students, a fatal fall onto a TV, willing chicks at the pool who know when to get lost and endlessly long telephone cables are waiting for the one who dares to put the silver disc of The Amazing Mr. No Legs into the player. Directed by Ricou Browning, exactly THE Ricou Browning, who already swam around as The Creature from the Black Lagoon. But the biggest scandal is that the honorable John Agar, who has already defeated the Mole People as Police Chief Hathaway, did not receive a single cent in fee for the film. Whoever hesitates now, has already lost. Get The Amazing Mr. No Legs or to use the words of Chuck and Andy: Chuck: We may be peeing on the wrong tree. Two versions on the US Blu-rayThe US Blu-ray by Massacre Video includes two versions of the film. One is the French version taken from a 35mm cinema copy and the other a composite version in which the missing scenes have been added. Probably a German VHS or maybe even the DVD was used for this, at least the German title "Gun Fighter" appears in the opening credits. The picture quality of the 35mm material is very good with the characteristically charming dirt and film tears of a cinema reel. The quality of the added scenes drops significantly. For the composite version, whole shots were always exchanged, probably to avoid a jump in quality during a shot. It is unusual that, for two shots in the composite version, the scenes from the German version were used, although they are completely included in the French version. One of these shots was used for the following image comparison, which is intended to illustrate the qualitative difference. Picture comparison: French version:
