The US Blu-ray from Film Masters was compared with the amazon prime version.
Gangster Alexander Ward and his gang plan to rob the bank in Deadwood. As a diversion, they plant a bomb in a nearby mine. Disguised as tourists, ski instructor Gil Jackson is to take the group to Canada in the belief that it is only a ski trip. The group is pursued by a spider-like monster that has been startled by the explosion... Beast from Haunted Cave is a typical Corman production, this time shot in the snowy mountains of South Dakota. The budget was low and the monster from the cave pretty laughable, but with a running time of just over 60 minutes, the movie is surprisingly gripping. This is mainly down to Sheila Noonan, who plays the gangster boss's mistress and has some strong dialog. Beast from Haunted Cave is the directorial debut of Monte Hellman (Two Lane Blacktop) and the gangster boss is played by Frank Wolff (God Forgives ... Django Never!) The film was released on Blu-ray by Film Masters in the USA on October 24, 2023. It contains the theatrical version and the extended TV version. The theatrical version has a few minor differences compared to the version that can be found on Amazon Prime. Right at the beginning, a shot of the chairlift is missing in the Blu-ray and there are jump cuts in two places, which means that some dialog is lost. Both versions have other very short master errors that are not listed in the report. The picture quality of the US Blu-ray is excellent and I would say the movie has never looked so good. According to dvdcompare, the longer theatrical version can also be found on the US Blu-ray from Retromedia.
