Comparison between the TV Version and the extended DVD Version (both featured on the DVD Box "Volume 7")

3 scenes with sound censoring, one of them with alternative frame material.

Difference: 0.9 sec

While Family Guy due to the early broadcasting time on national TV is censored from time to time some episodes have been in principle extended for the DVD release or are shown for the first time in an uncensored version.
The US Box-Set "Volume 7" includes all shortened TV versions as bonus material on the DVDs.

Unfortunately they took small pains with the Box packaging. Whereas all the discs of the previous seasons were stored in several slim cases packed in a stable case, the "Volume 7" discs come up in a single Amaray Case. The listing of the episodes without the summaries can be found on the back of the cover. The ensemble is encased by an O-Ring.
Even it’s a minor matter, it’s a pity. Apart from that the release is again equipped with lots of bonus material and has an audio comment for each episode.

The actually compared 1st episode of the 7th season "Love Blactually" has only be changed a little. Principally there solely has been made sound censorship. On one place the well-known f-word and on another place a more harmless adjective for Jews has been chosen. The most interesting change is the first intervention because with the now harmless sounding change the following comment gains more brisance in both versions.

Lois starts talking with different words.

TV: "You know, it's amazing..."
DVD: "Well, you're doing a lot better now..."

Obviously the following words have been the reason behind the intervention because she says (in both versions): "Cleveland, you went from a black woman to a white woman without having to take a Hispanic woman step in between."
In the DVD version it sounds a little more racialistic because Lois sees an improvement in Cleveland’s "Change".
