10.15 Burning Down the Bayit

Comparison:

  • TV Version
  • DVD Version
Release: Jan 07, 2014 - Author: Muck47 - Translator: Sebbe - external link: IMDB - more from this series
Compared are the TV Version and the DVD Version, the latter represented by the US DVD Set "Volume 11".

5 differences (among them 3x censored audio track and 2x alternative footage)
Length difference: 2.5 sec

The numbers are still confusing but at least one DVD set now contains an entire season instead of episodes from two seasons, as it used to be the case with previous DVD releases. As a result, "Volume 11" (US) / "Season 12" (UK) contains all the episode of Season 10. Compared to the TV Versions, the DVD Versions are uncensored and uncut.

There's no big difference in running time in episode 15 ("Burning Down the Bayit"); nevertheless, some stuff had to be censored for the broadcast on TV, probably due to the rather delicate topic (insurance fraud after a crash, which killed a whole school class), which makes it interesting to take a look at the DVD version. Whether one has to see the additional bodies of the children there is of course questionable. Moreover, the audio track was censored at some points; the one which relates to religion stands out the most.
Alternative
07:24-07:31

Some bodies of dead children are floating in the water in the DVD version.

No difference in running time

Alternative
07:38-07:48

The animation starts earlier on the DVD and more dead children are longer visible, while the banner blocks the view on them almost immediately in the TV version. Shortly afterwards, only the DVD shows some more dead children floating in the water in the, apart from that, equal animation.
The TV version is then a little bit longer at the end in order to compensate the difference in running time - Tom reads out the tweets of the children in both versions.
