Blue Dragon is an Anime series based on the same-named Xbox 360 RPG by Mistwalker. Just as many other Anime series before, it was aired in a censored TV version in the USA. To avoid any difference in time the editors decided to repeat several scenes or simply add self-made star animations. Additionally they often edited scenes or just deleted/retouched some characters. They even changed one of the main characters - Bouquet - by reducing the size of her breasts. Even the soundtrack was altered. Akira Toriyama (of Dragonball fame) came up with the character design and if you take a closer look at the series, you will find that Blue Dragon and Dragonball share several similarities besides the word "dragon". Since it's an Akira Toriyama production, the series also includes a sort of "underwear humor" - one of the characters is completely obsessed with females' panties. For the US TV-standards scenes like that had to be changed - both the images and the dubbing differ immensely from the original version.

Whenever there are image comparisons, they're listed as follows:
Letf side: Japanese version
Right side: US version
Even though the star animation was also included in the Japanese version, the US editors extended it in order to cover up the direct hit.
No difference in time.

Instead of the soldier firing his gun they added the scene with the tank.
No difference in time.

A soldier hits Kluke with the rifle butt. In the US version you only see a star animation.
No difference in time.

After Shu was hit by a soldier he falls to the ground. The US editors retouched the red cheek.
No difference in time.

The soldier kicks Shu who's lying on the floor. In the US version they instead added a still picture of the soldier. However, they did a sloppy job of editing - for a few seconds you see him lunging out. looks quite awkward.
No difference in time.

The soldier kicks Shu again. For the US version they added a shot of Shu which was already shown.
No difference in time.

The soldier and the child were edited out.
No difference in time.
