Compared are the shortened version of "Road Apples" on the US DVD by Paramount and the uncut version on the German DVD by Turbine Classics.
4 cuts = 2 minutes and 15 seconds
The Ren & Stimpy Show is one of the most over the edge cartoon shows ever. So it's no surprise that Nickelodeon US - similar to Disney - reacted to the feedback of the audience and made a few cuts. On top of that, later broadcasts on Spike TV contained further alterations. More cuts were made and, if required, some scenes had a higher frames per second rate in order to reach the regular length for syndication. These versions are the available ones on the so-called "uncut" US-DVDs by Paramount.
Surprisingly enough, the German broadcasts back in the 90s were amlmost uncut, only a few scenes with too explicite footage were removed.
For the uncut box the comparisons have been made with, Turbine Germany used the cut (but restored) US masters and the original German versions in order to put the longest versions possible on the German DVD set. Missing scenes in the US Versions have been filled with the German version (including the German dub), missing scenes in the German versions have been filled with the US Version (and they got subtitled in German, if necessary). The result is the longest version available of every single episode.
Ren tips the vulture, who is eating Ren at the very moment, on the back and tells him it looked like he was going to make it after all. At the same time, Ren is lying on the ground and one can see that Ren is only a skeleton from the head down. The vulture snaps his fingers and spits the chewed remains on Ren. Then, the vulture flies away. Ren again who's now covered in his chewed remains up to his neck.
A shot of Ren screaming in the shower after Mr. Pipe turned on the hot water.
Mr. Pipe enters the shower stall as well. Now, one can see both of them twichting and screaming from outside.
Shot of the trailor on the road, followed by the inside of the trailor. Mr. Pipe and his wife are sitting at the table, telling Ren and Stimpy a ghost story about a murderous phantom which makes them shake while sitting on the shelf. Then, Mr. Pipe says they should finish their hot milk and go to bed. Mr. Pipe dips his pipe in his milk and slurps the milk with it. Ren and Stimpy finish their milk as well and go to their sleeping room. While they're on their way, Stimpy wants to know what happened to the phantom with fear in his voice. Ren explains stories like that were only for morons, idiots and schmucks.
Having arrived at the sleeping room, they're being introduced to "Wilbur Cobb", their new roommate. A fat, ugly, old man with a huge noise who's already expecting them while lying in bed. Subsequently, a shot of Wilbur Cobb with Stimpy in his left and Ren in his right arm. He's bending their ears. A little text box that says "Hours later" pops up. Then Wilbur again, who still has Ren and Stimpy in his arms. He's talking their heads off. Ren and Stimpy don't seem very delighted. At some point, Stimpy asks Wilbur why they couldn't get torn into pieces right away. A cut to the trailor driving across the road follows. Now a cut to the inside. Wilbor and Stimpy are huddled up to one another while Ren is lying seperatedly. He gives them an angry look.
