Comparison between the TV-Version and the DVD-Version, the latter represented by the US DVD set "Season 16"
- 4 deviations, including two beep tone censorships - difference: 27.8 sec Same procedure as every year: The next DVD set of Family Guy available since December 2018 in the USA contains all episodes of Season 16. Here, too, the episodes are in an extended or simply uncensored version compared to the original TV broadcasts. A sticker on the plastic foil reveals this again. On the DVD set itself there are no further hints. Episode 19 ("The Unkindest Cut") has two extended scenes to offer. Both quite nice jokes by the way, in addition there are two of the usual F-word beep tone censorships. As always, care must be taken with the German release with the same name "Staffel 16", which has been available since August 2018 - in the box-set are actually only the episodes from Season 14. Remark: Episode 18 ("HTTPete") has no deviations between TV and DVD versions. 01:41
Mort's fraud in the pharmacy is only shown briefly in the DVD version. Mort: "I've got OxyContin for an Abraham Lincoln. Vicodin here for fourth-century Babylonian emperor Nebuchadnezzar. Whatever we have left for Matthew Perry." Since you last saw Perry pick up his package himself, Tom Tucker says: "Some of the prescriptions were real." 12.4 sec
This means that for the remaining 7 seconds of Tom Tucker's report, only the TV version shows an image of Mort.
beep tone censorship 03:07 Peter means without a beep: "Fuck you, get back in your car."
12:36 The homosexual explains a little longer in the DVD version: "(I work in town as a choreographer and florist.) My business associate Richard and I are often burning the midnight oil. Sometimes it's a lot easier to stay over in the city when we're filling late orders. We stay at the office. We have a bed in there-- a trundle bed-- and we just bunk up down there snug as two bugs in a rug." 15.4 sec
beep tone censorship 14:07 The ventriloquist dummy Edgar threatens without the beep tone censorship: "Blow your fucking brains out in front of all these people."
