"The Secret of Monkey Island" and its sequel "Le Chuck's Revenge" were released in 1990, resp. 1991 and became two classics of videogame history. Even after all these years, the series still holds up to its cult factor, which is why in 2009 and 2010, ghrapically revised reissues were released for the first two games in order to bring the games to new audiences. All nostalgic fans can switch back and forth between the original graphics and the updated visuals in order to decide, which they like better. The controls were refined so that you can both steer the cursor and the character with a gamepad's analog sticks. Additionally, there are also voice actors for the games' texts which are implemented regardless of which graphics you use. As for the first part, there are minor alterations, which thankfully do not interfere with the overall plot or gaming experience.
Copyright Censorship - Missing Innuendo:
In the Original Version you can - in the tradition of many other LucasFilm/LucasArts Games - see little things that hint at other games. On Booty Island inside the costume shop they put costumes of the characters from "Sam & Max" in the background as a little gimmick. They are visible on the right side of the screen and might not catch your attention immediately. Since LucasArts no longer owns the rights to these characters, they were taken out of the reissue game and - just as in the first game - replaced with a tentacle character from the "Maniac Mansion" series.
