Comparison:

  • Theatrical Version
  • Extended Version
Release: Jan 21, 2010 - Author: Herr Koemmlich - Translator: Tony Montana - external link: IMDB
Compared is the German DVD including the Theatrical Cut with the Extended Version which is available on the so-called "Totally Awesome Edition".

One scene, where Adam Sandler talks to his student of singing and gets some advice concerning his love life from her, is added. This Adam Sandler film, here in one of his better roles, is worth being watched even without this sequence. Very entertaining is the 80ies music and the retrospection of the weird fashion.

Rosie (Ellen Albertini Dow) does some training to stay in shape. Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) fixes something and asks her:
"You sure you know what you're doing up there?"
Rosie replies: "Don't worry. You've got to stay in shape so other men will look at you. That way your husband knows you're still attractive."
Robbie:"Yeah, well, just don't drop a dumbbell on your head."
Rosie:"So, you still haven't been dating anyone new, have you? Are you nervous about your penis?"
Robbie:"No, not yet."
Rosie:"Is it your confidence?"
Robbie:"Huh? What?"
Rosie:"Well, are you nervous about showing a new girl your penis? You were comfortable showing it to Linda but now you might have to show your penis to someone new."
Robbie:"What's the matter with you? Don't Don't talk about that."
Rosie:"You know, I was at your bris when you were a baby and I saw it. It wasn't huge, but it had some size. So don't worry about it."
Robbie:"I'm not worried about it. Next subject, quick."
Rosie:"It had good shape."
Robbie:"What's the matter with you?"
Rosie:"And when they cut the extra skin off the penis itself was very clean."
Robbie:"Well, that's great. Jeez. I'm going to ask a girl out when I'm ready, Rosie."
Rosie:"Oh, well, let me help you practice until you are. Now, I'll be a young girl, and you be Robbie. So, ask me out.."
Robbie:"I don't want to this."

Rosie starts the role play:"Hello, sir.".
Robbie shyly responds: :"Hello"
Rosie:"Is there something you want to ask me?"
Robbie:"OK. Would you like to go to dinner with me sometime?"
Rosie:"No. Your penis is too small." Then she laughs und adds:"As I said, it had some size. You'll know when you meet the right girl because it's not how you feel about her it's how she makes you feel about yourself."
Robbie:"That makes a lot of sense. All that other stuff was ridiculous but that made a lot of sense."
Julia (Drew Barrymore) arrives while he's talking. Rosie welcomes her with the words:"Ah, well, look who we have here. The precious angel."
Julia gives Rosie a hug und asks:"How are the lessons going?"
Rosie:"Well, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it."
Robbie:"Yeah, she's starting to scare less and less people when she sings."
Rosie:"Oh, Robbie, you're so funny. You two talk. I'm going to do some more military presses." and leaves. Robbie and Julia are alone now.
Robbie:"OK. Everything all right?"
Julia:"Yeah. Actually, um I came by to ask you something though."
Robbie:"Yeah? What's up?"
Julia:"Would you like to go out on a date with Holly?"
Robbie:"Oh, yeah? You want me to go out on a date with Holly?"
Julia:"Yeah. It'll be a double date Glenn and I are going to go, too."
Robbie:"Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah, Holly's nice."
Julia:"Yeah. And she's single and you're single."
Robbie:"Yeah"
Julia:"Come on, It'll be fun."
Robbie:"Yeah, that sounds like fun."

The last screen, where Julia and Robbie are watching Rosie, is the only one that appears in the Theatrical Cut.
