Compared are the shortened version of "Eat My Cookies / Ren's Bitter Half" on the US DVD by Paramount and the uncut version on the German DVD by Turbine Classics.
2 cuts = 1 minute
The Ren & Stimpy Show is one of the most over the edge cartoon shows ever. So it's no surprise that Nickelodeon US - similar to Disney - reacted to the feedback of the audience and made a few cuts. On top of that, later broadcasts on Spike TV contained further alterations. More cuts were made and, if required, some scenes had a higher frames per second rate in order to reach the regular length for syndication. These versions are the available ones on the so-called "uncut" US-DVDs by Paramount.
Surprisingly enough, the German broadcasts back in the 90s were amlmost uncut, only a few scenes with too explicite footage were removed.
For the uncut box the comparisons have been made with, Turbine Germany used the cut (but restored) US masters and the original German versions in order to put the longest versions possible on the German DVD set. Missing scenes in the US Versions have been filled with the German version (including the German dub), missing scenes in the German versions have been filled with the US Version (and they got subtitled in German, if necessary). The result is the longest version available of every single episode.
Eat My Cookies
Stimpy points at the X on the ground. Then he says to Ren they should get in position right where they are. Ren makes a step forward and gets on the X. After that, Ren points out it was incredibly easy while Stimpy keeps reading from his book that they had to make a step forward now. He points into the given direction. Both of them step forward and reach a ledge right after the bushes. Ren wants to know from Stimpy badge they were going to earn at the very moment. Stimpy says "free flight", then both of them fall of the ledge. While falling down, Stimpy is reading in his book again and explains to Ren they were going to earn another badge soon, the "point of the needle-rock badge". Ren looks to the ground and starts screaming. They both fall off the image, followed by the sound of themm hitting the ground with a loud bang. The camera zooms in on them. They're stuck between the rocks. Ren gets a badge called "Falling on rocks" stuck to his ear.
Rens bitter Half
The US DVD only shows a girl scout at Ren's doorstep. After he opened the door, she asks him if he wanted cookie. Ren doesn't have to think about it and shoves all the cookies in his mouth. He chews them and spits them back in the bag when they're mush. Then he tells her "No", gives her back the cookies (or what's left of them) and shuts the door. The girl looks into the camera, she seems terrified.
Now, the US Version lacks the following scene. Stimpy tells Ren he knew he was the actual Ren because he could never be so cruel and mean (refering to the "cookie stunt"). Ren responds with "Whatever you say, Stimpy." in a very dull way.
