One certainly needs to make no words about the hilarious TV show "ALF". Even those who have not seen it have at least heard of it even though it has been quite some time since something new from the ALF universe was released. Anyway, the show consists of 4 seasons and was aired in the late 80s and early 90s. Furthermore, there are two animated series ("ALF: The Animated Series" & ALF Tales) and a motion picture from the mid 90s.

As for the US Versions, a few minutes of each episode were cut for syndication in order to show more commercials. Unfortunately, these syndication versions were also released on DVD. Understandably, the fans were disappointed that the DVDs do not contain the uncut episodes. Whether or not the uncut episodes will be released one day (perhaps on Blu-ray?) is the million dollar question.

The conversation about Lynn's school project – a documentation of her family tree – goes on a little longer.
Lynn: It's not that kind of a tree! See, look! It shows all of our ancestors who they married and who their kids were! Each relative is a branch!
Alf: Except your Grandma Dorothy! She's a nut!
Katherine: Watch it!
Alf: Hey, it's not like she's here!
Lynn: You can find out some really interesting stuff this way! Like seeing a picture of your mother wearing lipstick when she was 14, which you yourself were not allowed to wear until you are 16!
Katherine: I had chapped lips!
Lynn: Did you have chapped eyelids too?

Katherine: What's this vacuum cleaner doing in the picture?
Alf: That's my teacher!
Lynn: Your fourth-grade teacher was a Hoover Upright?
Alf: Bite your tongue! Miss Landers was remarkable! She could walk on her hands and pick up lint with her big skinny mouth! Oh, she was a vacuum cleaner!

When Katherine subsequently says: "Oh, look, I see you got a picture of your thumb here", both versions use different takes.

Willie and the others can hear Alf cry. Willie and Katherine then walk to their bedroom where Alf is located. When Willie stands in the door, he calls for Alf.
Alf (sobbing): Who is it?
Willie: Well, who do you think it is?
Alf: Willie, I'm not in the mood for guessing games!
Willie opens the door and enters the bedroom. Alf tells him to leave and Willie does so immediately.
Willie: Well, what are you doing in there?
Alf: Starring out your window! Reflecting on the wretchedness of life!
Willie: I didn,t mean what are you doing in there! I meant, what are you doing in there?
Oh, sure, confuse me with syntax!
Alf walks to the bed and puts his head on the mattress.
Willie: We're coming in!

In the US Version there is an alternative shot of Willie and Katherine in front of the door. Willie tells Alf that Katherine will come in.

Willie: Alf, if it makes you feel any better! I was born in wedlock too!
Katherine: So was I!
Alf: So what? You think the whole universe follows the same moral code as one backward planet that worship Don Knotts?
Katherine: We don't worship Don Knotts!
Alf: Well, you should! He's very entertaining!
