Due to a long-drawn-out litigation between Argento and the Paramount Studios (who own the American publication rights), the movie "4 mosche di velluto grigio" has not been released in too many countries. Only Greek, France, and Belgium offered official VHS-tapes; all the other VHS and DVD releases are bootlegs. It was not until the year 2009, that the movie finally was officially released on DVD in the United States. Besides this problem, the releases also had other flaws regarding quality and censorship.
