Compared are the TV Version and the uncensored DVD Version (DVD Version represented by the UK release "Season 10").
- 8 differences, among them five with auditory differences and three with alternate footage - Difference: 5.7 sec As usual, almost any newer episode of Family Guy has been released as uncensored and extended version on DVD. The latest season 10 has just started to air in the US (September 2011) but the last episode released on DVD is episode "8.08". It's available on "Volume 8" and was released in June 2010. Since then, no further box has been released or even announced so far for some reason. But the English people know what they're doing. While the UK counterpart was always released a couple of months after the box set in the US (the UK Season 9 equal to the US Vol. 8 was released 5 months later), the next UK box is already available. "Season 10" contains the episodes "8.09" until "8.19", the episode Partial Terms of Endearment, which got banned from TV in the US, plus the first 3 episodes of season 9 and it was released in May 2011. The ninth episode of the box, 8x16 ("April in Quahog"), has just a slightly different runtime, but nevertheless there are several (censorship-) differences between the TV version and the DVD version. At a lot of points the TV audio track was mitigated by bleeping or displaying alternative passages, among others for example two racist statements. One middle finger was blurred and a rather harmless phrase by Jesus is missing in the TV version. Audio censorship / Alternative
01:16-01:18 In the TV version Stephen Hawking says to Trisha: "All right! See you, bitch!" In the DVD version it's more racist: "Bitchen. See you, ching chong." DVD version 0,3 sec longer
Audio censorship 03:22-03:24 In the DVD version Peter suggests Coldplay: "How about we do a song that's not whiny bullshit?" This statement was re-recorded for the TV version and the word written in bold was replaced by "crap". No runtime difference
Alternative 07:33-07:34 At first Jesus says in the DVD version: "Yeah, you see it fits in there because there's a hole in it." So when he turns around and gives Mort the finger it was blurred in the TV version. DVD version 2,6 sec longer
Audio censorship 08:48-08:49 Quagmire says "Fuck you!" in the DVD version, they mitigated it in the TV version to "Screw you!" No runtime difference
Alternative 11:33-11:39 Peter talks more directly about the bad word in the DVD version and there you can see him in the neighborhood of the Afro-Americans. TV version "I'm gonna find a black neighborhood and see what happens if I yell the you-know-what word." Thereupon follows a view on the house of the Griffins. DVD version "I'm going into the inner city and I'm gonna yell the N word." After that a corresponding neighborhood is shown, rap music is playing in the background and Peter is going to speak. DVD version 2,8 sec longer
Audio censorship 14:56-14:57 Peter greets his family without the beep sound: "Morning, assholes!"
Audio censorship 18:00-18:02 Peter, again under the influence of crystal meth, says uncensored: "I'm so fucking ready!"
