Taken 2 - Unrated Cut on DVD/BD in the US

More Hand Grenades for Istanbul

Many people were disappointed that Taken 2 was considerably tame in theaters when it came to violence. Of course, it was due to the PG-13 rating that cinemagoers got a heavily censored version about which director Olivier Megaton expressed his discomfort. Still, it seems quite useless to try to convince FOX that censorship cuts are a bad idea since the film hauled in more money at the box office than the first film, which got an impressive result already.

But fans can rejoice since the Unrated Extended Cut, which was already teased by the director, will in fact be released on DVD/BD (in contrast to Prometheus...). Sometimes, home cinema is just better. A release date is not yet known but that surely won't take too long.
