Doraemon Censored After Fukushima Catastrophe
The Japanese anime/manga character Doraemon is called one of the classics in Japanese animation and is around for almost 40 years. Therefore, the robot cat from the future has a lot material by now. This includes the "Doraemon Encyclopedia" that incorporates a huge amount of information about the series and its characters. In this book, Doraemon's "anatomy" is looked at, too. Up to this point, the following picture was included:
The text next to Doraemon's "heart" reads: "Atom reactor: whatever he eats, he transforms into nuclear energy".
It could be observed during the attacks on September 11 that a country becomes sensitive when a catastrophe occurs. Therefore, it's understandable that the encyclopedia changed an aspect of this character:
The text next to the heart now reads: "whatever he eats, he transforms into energy".
