Last of the Mohicans - Definitive Cut Comes to UK
Michael Mann's epos, located in the colonial war, about the last representatives of the Mohicans, who get involved in the war between England and France, was shown in a shortened version theatrically that the director wasn't happy about. Fortunately, he later got the chance to put together a Director's Cut (see comparison)
When the first-time release of the Blu-ray was due in 2010, he produced another version and to avoid that people confuse it with the first DC, he called the second DC his "Director's Definitive Cut". We have a comparison for that, too, in which we elaborate a little more on the production process.
Two years later than in the US, on November 23rd, 2012, the Blu-ray fans in the UK will get the Director's Definitive Cut and don't need to put up with the region code issues that come with the US release.
