The game Bushido Blade found its Japanese and US release in 1997, and in 1998 it was also brought to Europe as a PAL version. The game mainly revolves around samurai duels with several weapons. Enemies do not fight each other in the usual Beat'em'Up style but can kill each other when performing special moves. Thus you can win in a matter of seconds. For the time it is also interesting to notice that you have a pretty broad 3D space to move in, which allows for an easier dodge of enemy attacks. The game was pretty popular and thus had a sequel that was released a year later. However, the sequel was only slightly better than the first game.
In the Japanese Version you can see yellow flashes/pixels when weapons hit each other or during deadly moves. The European and the US Version colored these flashes red, which of course makes everything look much more brutal.
