10.02 Seahorse Seashell Party

Comparison:

  • TV Version
  • DVD Version
Release: Dec 22, 2013 - Author: Muck47 - Translator: Tony Montana - external link: IMDB - more from this series
Compared are the TV Version and the DVD Version, the latter represented by the US DVD Set "Volume 11".

6 differences (among them 4x censored audio track)
Length difference: 30.8 sec

The numbers are still confusing but at least one DVD set now contains an entire season instead of episodes from two seasons, as it used to be the case with previous DVD releases. As a result, "Volume 11" (US) / "Season 12" (UK) contains all the episode of Season 10. Compared to the TV Versions, the DVD Versions are uncensored and uncut.

Episode 2 ("Seahorse Seashell Party") is 30 seconds longer which results from two extended scenes. Furthermore, there are three rather curiously censored comments with a more explicit (sex joke) or more provocative (Jew joke) choice of words. Last but not least, the usual F-word issue.

After Meg wanted to join the game, Lois uses the term "finger-bang) in the DVD Version which makes it ambiguous at the very least. The animation of the mouth is slightly different for obvious reasons.

TV Version: "(Oh, no one wants to get finger-banged by you, Meg.) Why don't you just go do that to yourself, Meg?"
DVD Version: "(Oh, no one wants to get finger-banged by you, Meg.) Why don't you just go finger-bang yourself, Meg?"

Meg complains longer.

Meg: "I'm making a legitimate point about how poorly this family treats me. Brian, you can't say this family doesn't treat me like crap."
Lois: "Don't answer her, Brian, she's just setting you up."
Brian (still tripping): "I think Meg and Lois are right."
Meg: "Well, it's one or the other, Brian."

A rather unusual alteration when the speaker comments from the off why Jews are now able to fly when the Italian and the dark-skinned woman are fighting. In the TV Version, it seems to be a reference to a small group while it seems to be about Jews in general in the DVD Version.

TV Version: "Sensing the impending battle, a flock of Jews flies quickly away, as avoiding confrontation is their best chance for survival."
DVD Version: "Sensing the impending battle, a flock of Jews flies quickly away, as avoiding confrontation is the Jew's best chance for survival."

The scene after the National Geographic cutaway starts earlier in the DVD Version. Brian is still high as a kite and Stewie tries to calm him down.

Brian: "Man, you know, the hurricane's outside, but I'll...I'll tell you what, the real storm's in here."
Stewie: "Okay."
Brian: "The emotional storm."
Stewie: "Yeah, I know, I know what you meant. Let's... Come here, come here."

Meg expresses herself more vulgar when she's talking about Lois.

TV Version: "The whore who let Gene Simmons and Bill Clinton go to town on her?"
DVD Version: "The whore who let Gene Simmons and Bill Clinton climb inside her?"
