Compared are the TV Version and the Extended Version.
29 differences, among them 4 with alternative footage, 1 recut and 1 longer scene in the TV Version
Length difference: 117.3 sec (= 1:57 min)
The Blu-ray release only contains the TV versions of the episodes, as was the case with the first season. Those who know the DVD releases from the USA or Great Britain will surely miss the extended versions, which can be found on these DVDs.
Episode 2x13 (The One After the Superbowl Part Two is the second and last part of the two-parter which is one long(er) episode in the Extended Version.
Minus the regular opening credits from the TV Version, the Extended Version is approx. 2.5 minutes longer split into almost 30 (*cough* and thanks to the huge figure annoying to document) differences. Lots of penny-ante stuff - sometimes funny, sometimes not so much. There are many frame cuts indicating that the TV Version has been cut for time reasons. When guest star Julia Roberts is talking about masturbation in an extended scene, it might as well indicate censoring. The longer scene with Rachel, Monica & the second guest star Jean-Claude Van Damme at the end of the episode might have been cut for the same reason.
Longer exterior shot in the Extended Version plus Ross and Rachel on set a second earlier.
After Joey's attention was drawn to the director sitting in his chair, only the Extended Version contains another shot of the group.
TV Version longer
Only the TV Version contains the regular opening credits, followed by an exterior shot that inititates the next scene on set.
In the Extended Version, the shots at the beginning and end are trivially longer (no screens).
TV Version 46 sec lšnger
Chandler and Susie keep talking.
Susie: "What have you been doing since childhood?"
Chandler: "Well, umm... I got a new belt."
Susie: "I wondered."
The shot of Jean-Claude van Damme starts earlier.
Before Susie gets called to the set (a few frames earlier in the TV Version - no screens), she's having a chat with Chandler.
Chandler: "No, Stephen Hurs was the kid who would eat anything for money, David Stein was the guy who had no elbows."
Susie: "OK, well then who was the kid that got caught masturbating?"
Chandler: "OK, that's not what he was doing. All right, he was looking for his bus money."
Extended Version 13.6 sec longer
Slightly shorter fade before the shot of Susie and Chandler on the ground.
The shot of Ross being enthusiastic at the apartment starts earlier: "OK, got the music, got the dinner. Oh and check it out..."
Joey slightly longer. As a consequence, a comment of Ross on the phone has been moved so that nothing of it gets lost.
Similar cut before Ross sits down.
At the end, the scene is significantly longer: Joey and Ross are talking.
Joey: "Ah, I'm sorry, man."
He gives Ross his hand and squeezes it a little. After a short moment, Joey says: "You know what?"
Joey: "Did we pass the moment where we should have stopped holding hands?"
Ross: "Oh, yeah!"
They panically let go.
Longer black screen in the TV Version due to a commercial break.
+ 0.9 sec
The Extended Version sticks to the close-up of Chandler and Susie all the time. The former is unable to cope all her sexual references and helplessly gesticulates.
The TV Version on the other hand cuts to a high-angle shot before she then says she was in the mood for him now from the same angle.
Extended Version 3.8 sec longer
After Chandler followed Susie to the restroom, Joey and his plus one looked at each other with confusion. Ross explains: "He likes to keep us in the loop."
The shot of the door to the restroom starts earlier plus Chandler makes a comment: "I can't believe we're doing this."
It takes a little longer until Susie steps out.
Alternate exterior shot. The following shot of Monica and JCVD is zoomed in in the TV Version (at least it is on Blu-ray).
Monica keeps looking after JCVD a little longer. Inside the apartment, a first shot of her demanding "Say you're sorry!".
The shot of Monica after the fight ended starts earlier.
Another "highly important" cut here.
At first, a longer shot in the Extended Version - followed by a longer one in the TV Version. Quite redundant.
Extended Version 0.6 sec longer
The montage of Ross and Marcel starts slightly earlier.
The following transition starts slightly earlier as well.
The montage in the TV Version ends with Marcel getting in the car with his new owner. The music keeps playing in the TV Version, it doesn't in the Extended Cut. Instead, the Extended Version contains an additional scene with Rachel, Monica und JCVD - to whom the latter implies a threesome. Then Ross and Marcel earlier (further words of farewell).
Van Damme: "I'm sorry it didn't work out between you and me, or you and me. Drew was very disappointed."
Rachel: "OK, well, bye."
She dearly kisses him and Van Damme repeats: "Goodbye."
Monica kisses him, too: "Well, bye for me too."
Rachel is getting jealous again and kisses him again: "OK, well, bye-bye again."
Van Damme: "Perhaps, uh, the three of us just could..."
Rachel: "Oh, no, no, no, no, no."
Van Damme: "Are you sure? I can crush a walnut with my butt..."
Monica and Rachel: "No, no, no, no."
Monica: "But no. Maybe if I were baking."
Monica and Rachel: "Bye-bye."
Ross: "Bye, Marcel. See ya on the big screen. You keep people drinkin' that beer, OK. I miss you, buddy."
Slightly extended shot of Marcel being carried to the car plus an additional shot of Ross.
More footage of Ross and Marcel.
Ross now raises his hand in the TV Version which was the actual beginning of a longer shot which starts in the middle of it.
+ 1.8 sec
Ross longer and the street sooner.
The final shot before the logos is longer in the Extended Version.
