Takashi Miike was first recognized internationally with his weird yakuza flick FUDOH – THE NEW GENERATION. Afterwards a lot more movies were following like Audition, the Dead or Alive triology, the manga release Ichi the Killer etc.
In GB the usage of clouts is kind of a taboo. This is the reason why Fudoh has been cut in several scenes. Violence against women is a sensitive topic as well. The version is still viewable because all the cuts have been placed pretty good and can’t be recognized.
