Zodiac
Theatrical Version - Director's Cut

David Fincher's thriller Zodiac represents inasmuch a novelty due to the fact that a Director's Cut was announced with the home cinema release of the theatrical version. This version is approximately five minutes longer and consists of story-line extensions. Until now the Director's Cut is only available within the USA.

Theatrical Version - Directors Cut

The racy action flick “Crank“ became cult within a short time and received positive feedback. After the worldwide release of the theatrical version a director’s cut was screened by the German pay-tv “Premiere”. Again some months later this “Extended Version” was published onto the German market and is even today the only release of this longer cut so far. The new version contains numerous small differences and a few longer, new scenes.

After the success of the original theatrical releases the decision was made at Universal to continue the franchise on DVD. As well as the theatrical movies the focus was set on crude humour. After initially releasing a toned-down version a longer cut of the movie was published shortly thereupon.
