American Gangster
Theatrical Release - Extended Edition
The theatrical version of Ridley Scott's semi-biographical gangster drama American Gangster isn't that short at all. Therefore some film critics certified pace problems. Due to this it is somehow astonishing that the DVD does contain an Extended Cut. Nearly twenty minutes of new material, solely extended story line, has been added to the movie that puts the run-time close to the three hour mark.

Donkey Punch
R-Rated - Unrated
Dealing with a sexual practice that went terribly wrong, it was not questionable that the MPAA wanted some scenes to be censored before giving the R-rating for a limited theatrical release in the States.
On DVD, two versions were released. The R-rated cut and an Unrated edition offering the original version of the film with all censorship being removed.

Scary Movie 4
PG-13 - Unrated
“Scary Movie 4“ is another comedy that was released as an unrated version after its theatrical release. The almost 6 minutes longer cut shows especially more sex-related material, which was probably considered too explosive for the PG-13 rating of the theatrical cut. In the US both the theatrical and the unrated version were released on DVD. Is the unrated material worth the purchase?
