Pefect Dark is a First-Person-Shooter for the Nintendo 64 set in the future. Players take control of freshly-trained special agent named Joanna Dark, who received the codename 'Perfect Dark' because of her outstanding accomplishments.During her first mission, the agent gets onto the track of ominous arms-technology-company 'dataDyne', which is working on the recovery of an alien superweapon that sank into the Pacific during a UFO-crash.
The censored Japanese version has been compared to the uncensored American and identical English versions.The blood effects have been almost completely removed from the Japanese game. Both squirts and pools of blood are not present compared to the original version. Enemies also disappear shortly after they have fallen to the ground.
