Comparison between the TV Version and the extended DVD Version (both included in the DVD Box "Volume 6").
4 new/extended scenes (4 of them with alternative footage)
+ 1 scene with auditory censorship
Difference: 35.1 sec
Family Guy is a very successful show aired on FOX. Since some jokes are simply too rude to air them on national television, the producers have to censor/cut scenes from time to time. However, they sometimes also cut some jokes away in order to reach the appropiate length for a TV-episode. Therefore, not all the changes that were made are a result of censorship. Nevertheless there still are enough hilarious, outrageous jokes in the show - fans will be in for a good time, weven when watching the TV Version on FOX. (I'm speaking from experience.)
BTW, it airs every sunday evening on FOX. That's really nice because you can also watch the new American Dad episode as well as the new episode of The Cleveland Show. So you've got a terrific triple feature. If you're watching FOX anyway, you can also watch the latest Simpsons episode. After all, what's better than spent your whole evening laughing your ass of while watching the latest episodes of the series by Seth MacFarlane plus some new adventures of Homer & Co?
The 7th episode of the 6th season - "Peter's Daughter" - was slightly changed for the TV Version. The only thing that could be called censorship is the short additional sentence during Peter's conversation with Meg's boyfriend; all the other parts were obviously just cut out to reach the mandatory length of 22 minutes per episode.
Also, the good old F-Word was beeped.
Time index refers to the TV Version.
Trisha at first asks the biker (Rides-a-Ten-Speed-Everywhere Guy) something different: "How long have you lived in Quahog?"
Biker: "Well, I uses to live in the city, but I decided moving here would be a little more relaxing, a little more manageable and it's a great way to stay in shape."
The F-Word was beeped during the flashback of Abraham and his son.
"You wanna tell me what the fuck that was?"
No difference in time.
When Brian agrees to Stewie's plan, the scene goes on a little further in the DVD Version.
Stewie: "Perfect! By Christmas, you and I are gonna be richer than Bob Saget."
Flashback to Bob hitting on a lady in a bar: "So, you wanna grab something to eat?
Bob: "You ever ride in a limo."
Bob: "Well how about Full House buys you a ride in a limo and America's Funniest Home Videos buys you a shrimp cocktail."
Instantly, the woman's not interested anymore; "Get lost."
Bob: "If I give you $5000, will you tell me I matter?"
After the words "My daughter's womb is not a wildfire for you to douse with your adolescent seed" Peter in the DVD Version adds: "Neither is her lower back or her hair."
Just before the credits roll, the DVD Version shows a little dedication.
