One certainly needs to make no words about the hilarious TV show "ALF". Even those who have not seen it have at least heard of it even though it has been quite some time since something new from the ALF universe was released. Anyway, the show consists of 4 seasons and was aired in the late 80s and early 90s. Furthermore, there are two animated series ("ALF: The Animated Series" & ALF Tales) and a motion picture from the mid 90s.
As for the US Versions, a few minutes of each episode were cut for syndication in order to show more commercials. Unfortunately, these syndication versions were also released on DVD. Understandably, the fans were disappointed that the DVDs do not contain the uncut episodes. Whether or not the uncut episodes will be released one day (perhaps on Blu-ray?) is the million dollar question.
Willie: (He ate the whole box!)
Alf: I'm sorry!
Willie: You have no respect for personal property! You'll walk in any time, you'll take my candy!
The intro was shortened. We do not see Alf's point of view when opening a door and walking to into the room.
Another minor part from the intro was cut out when Alf wants to get his hands on the cake in the fridge, but Katherine hinders him.
Brian: Mom, why does Grandma keep an old oar?
Katherine: Oh, well, when Grandpa was courting Grandma, he took her canoeing down the Missouri River!
Alf: Then why would they need a cat stretcher?
After Alf said that he is going to talk to the dead today, he in the German Version adds another sentence: Except that there's something good on TV tonight! Additionally, there both versions then offer alternative material. The US Version shows a close-up shot of Alf, while the German Version's shot of Alf is further away and also shows the family sitting/standing around him.

Once the seance was started, the blinds suddenly move on their own a few times. Alf and the others turn towards the kitchen in shock.
After Alf's seance was revealed to be a fake, the German Version also shows Dorothy's discovery of a long piece of wire that Alf used to move the blinds. She pulls on it a few times and the blinds move.
Katherine: Brian, you had better leave the room! There is going to be some swearing now!
Brian: I wanna hear the swearing!
Willie: We're not going to swear!
Katherine (loud and angry): I am!
Alf: Count me in!
Lynn: Come on, Brian, I think we'd better go!
Alf: I'm going with you!
Willie: Stay where you are!
Dorothy: (Where did you get all this information about my life?)
Alf: Promise you won't hit me?
Dorothy slightly smacks Alf a few times upon finding out that he took all his information about her from her diary. When Alf says that he thought it would have been better if she had been a couple with Whizzer, both version shows this using different shots.

Dorothy sits in her new apartment and is busy with a lamp. There is a ring at the door and Dorothy walks to it. When she opens the door, we see that it is the mailman.
Postbote: Jack Rabbit Courier. Package for Dorothy Halligan!
Dorothy: Yeah, that's me, but...
Postbote: Sign here! Dorothy unterschreibt und der Postbote betritt weiter die Wohnung. Postbote: Hey, just moving in!
Postbote: Yeah, I could tell! Yeah, my wife and I are looking for a new place! What kind of square footage you got here?
Dorothy: I don't know!
Postbote: Mind if I measure?
Dorothy: Now is not really a good time!
Postbote: Oh, when would be a good time, then?
Dorothy: The 15th of August! Two years from now, when my lease is up!
Postbote: Good enough!
The mailman goes back out and Dorothy closes the door.
After Dorothy pushed the heavy package to the middle of the door, she wonders about its contents: What in the world...?
Dorothy: You know something, you're in the wrong game! You should be a shrink!
Alf: Actually, I'm only three hours short of my Masters in Psychology!
Dorothy: Well, don't try any of that stuff with me!
Whizzer: (What's this? I don't remember bringing that one in!)
Dorothy: (Oh, that! That's an old fur! A ratty old fur!) I'll probably leave it for Goodwill! Or else I'll have a hat and gloves made out of it!
Whizzer: Nice view of a much nicer building! I don't guess you'll be doing any naked cooking!
Dorothy: I don't get it!
Whizzer: What do you mean?
Dorothy: What is it exactly that you want from me?
Whizzer: I don't want anything from you! I just like you, that's all! Look, if you ever need anything, I'm right down the hall! Next to the ice machine!
Dorothy: I like you too, Whizzer!
Whizzer: I think we're going into our second minute!
From the following dialog onwards, both versions offer alternative footage:
Dorothy: Look, I just wanna say something, okay?
Dorothy: Good! I'm sorry!
