The Hobbit - Part 1: MPAA Rates Extended Cut
Early on, it was communicated that there will be an Extended Cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. After some complications with the announcements, the final release date is set around christmas 2013.
According to Peter Jackson, his Extended Cut is going to be 20-25 minutes longer than the theatrical version but there aren't a lot of details known about the new material. Empire had some info on a few scenes but apart from that, we'll just have to wait and see. A little hint is now also delivered by the MPAA, which rated the new version of the movie with a PG-13 rating.
The rating of the Extended Cut adds "fleeting nudity" to the description. Hobbit fans can look forward to some PG-13-compatible bareness. Now, isn't that something...?
