Twilight: Breaking Dawn Gets its Extended Cut

Part 1 With Prolonged Version After All

In early 2012, there was vague talk about a DVD release of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 that would contain an Extended Cut prolonging the theatrical version with almost 15 minutes of new footage. The announcement for the home video releases that was released later didn't contain any information on that, though.

What a surprise that we'll get the Extended Cut after all. At the moment, we only found a release date for France, which will be February 7th, 2013. The longer cut is supposed to be extended by 7 scenes:

Revised opening scene with the Volturi

Extended flashback of the young Edward Cullen

New scene during the honeymoon

2 new scenes in the Cullen home

Extended version of the fight scene between Edward / Jacob and the other werewolves

New scene with Jacob tending his wounds

Summit Entertainment also released a statement regarding this new version that is supposed to be 8 minutes longer and should come out in the US on March 2nd, 2013.
