A Thousand Cuts: Unrated Director's Cut in the US
Even though the cover and title of A Thousand Cuts call for immediate associations with the usual torture porn productions, the synopsis and trailer show something that doesn't quite match that. Obviously, we get more of a psychological thriller that tells the story of a father who breaks into the home of a successful director whom he holds responsible for his daughter's death.
Whether that delivers gory details like the many torture porns of the recent past, can be checked on January 31st, 2013, when the film is released in US retail. While the Blu-ray is advertised as an "Unrated Director's Cut", the DVD's artwork is missing this sticker. Even though the MPAA's database doesn't contain an "R" rated version yet, this might be a hint that the DVD could contain an alternate version of the movie. Time will tell if this has any more substance.
