The Pardon Will be Cut in Cinemas
Three reasons to write a movie off before it even came out:
Yep. Sometimes, a film gets its desired and expected rating but the studio still isn't satisfied. Not long ago, such a case happened in the UK where the vampire movie The Thompsons was given a BBFC 18 which also mentioned "sexualised violence". The label didn't want that "stigma" and censored the movie.
But what's the deal with The Pardon? It got a PG-13 rating and was probably uncensored this way. The MPAA's reasoning:
But that obviously didn't satisfy the studio. They cut the movie and now it has a PG-13 again. This time, the reasoning reads:
The nudity (which isn't a big deal in PG-13 movies anyway) was thus cut out and the drug consumption was apparently reduced.
The Pardon starts in US cinemas on December 7th, 2012.
