Sam Raimi comments on Evil Dead remake

PG-13 seems an unlikely rating for the horror film

Sam Raimi gave Collider a short interview where he was asked about the Evil Dead remake for which he wrote the script while newcomer Fede Alvarez directs it.

He was asked whether the film will be as bloody as the original film or if they might fit it to a PG-13 rating. He answered that the material he saw so far is very brutal and intense and that the film wouldn't let much time to relax. Regarding the rating, he said:

Raimi:  Definitely R. Maybe worse.

It's also interesting that the original film started in US cinemas without R rating. However, this seems unlikely for the 13 million Dollar remake. But unrated versions on DVD/Blu-ray later on haven't lost their fanbase. The remake of Evil Dead is scheduled for an April 2013 cinematical release worldwide.
