Hanger is banned in Australia
The brutal horror film Hanger by Ryan Nicholson is available in other countries such as the US, Germany or Austria for quite a while now. Australia was supposed to be the next market where it should have been released. However, the Australian classification board rained on the distributor's parade and denied the film its necessary rating.
The drastic depiction of violence and the multiple scenes of sexualized violence prompted the board to let Hanger fail in the rating process and therefore put a ban on the film in Down Under.
