Pacific Rim: No extended cut on DVD/BD
Guillermo Del Toro's robot spectacle Pacific Rim will neither be in 3D, nor will it have an Extended Cut later on DVD or Blu-ray. That should satisfy especially those cinemagoers, who are angry when theatrical versions are obviously trimmed while the full film is released on Blu-ray afterwards.
However, Del Toro tells Collider also that there are approx. 30 minutes of deleted scenes additionally to the actual cut, which is 2 hours long. Those deleted scenes will be on the Blu-ray, but they won't be "big" scenes that cost much money and production time since Del Toro would never cut such scenes. The additional material consists of character moments and scenes in which the science behind the main plot and the robots is explained.
Pacific Rim starts July 2013 in cinemas worldwide and revolves around an alien invasion that humans try to stop by using gigantic robots.
