Chained - R-Rated version on DVD/BD in the US
We already reported that the serial killer thriller Chained, directed by Jennifer Lynch (Surveillance) got the commercially suicidal NC-17 rating by the MPAA. The producers appealed but that wasn't successful. The board rejected it because of a scene that showed a graphic throat slit.
Reluctantly, the producers decided to censor this scene for the theatrical run and the film got its "R" rating. Lynch announced that fans would get to see the scene later on the home cinema releases and apparently, she kept her promise. At least in a way.
The upcoming US Blu-ray will include the feature film in its censored R-Rated version but has the uncensored throat slit scene in the bonus section. Even though some of the fans would be happier to see it re-integrated into the film, it's commendable that we get to see it at all.
The Blu-ray will be available on October 2, 2012 in the US. You can order it here.
