The Five-Year Engagement arrives unrated

Comedy with Jason Segel longer on DVD/BD

The cinematical run of the Judd Apatow-produced comedy The Five-Year Engagement was not very successful. The budget of the film starring Jason Segel and Emily Blunt was approx. 30 million Dollars and the worldwide box office gained only about 41 million. Therefore, it is reasonable that Universal Pictures tries to get a little more revenue by releasing an Unrated Cut on DVD/Blu-ray in the US.

There are no details yet regarding the runtime difference. Both releases will contain the theatrical and unrated version. The release date is scheduled for August 28th, 2012.
