The Raid: Redemption as Unrated Edition on DVD/BD

Indonesian action thriller maybe cut for R rating

In the US, the Indonesian action thriller The Raid: Redemption came into theaters with the MPAA's R rating (for strong brutal bloody violence throughout, and language). At some places, people having seen both versions claimed that they missed some scenes (especially violent ones) that were featured in the original Indonesian version but not in the US theatrical cut, which is the basis for the theatrical versions in other countries such as the UK and Germany, as well.

Now, these rumors seem to manifest themselves as facts. The home video release on DVD and Blu-ray advertizes The Raid: Redemption as an Unrated Edition. It will be released on August 14th, 2012.
