Prometheus - No cuts for the MPAA rating
It's time for another round in the never ending story surrounding Prometheus and its MPAA rating that has so much meaning for other countries as well since they will get the same cut of the movie.
Ridley Scott's Alien prequel creates serious buzz not only with its content but also with the controversy regarding the MPAA rating. While a PG-13 means a more harmless version that would generate a broader audience, an R rating would please fans and stay true to the Alien franchise that wasn't entertainment for children, either.
Many fans feared that a PG-13 would mean a watered-down and possibily even censored version for cinemas. Fox chief Tom Rothman now clears that up with a clear statement he gave to MTV.com:
Even though this doesn't mean that we don't get a PG-13 after all, at least we don't have to worry about censorship explicitly for this rating. That should count for something, right?
