Deadtime censored for the BBFC 18 rating

Slasher misses 12 seconds in the UK

In the last couple of months, several horror films were released in a censored version in the UK because they failed to receive a BBFC classification in their uncut form. Among them were movies such as I Spit on Your Grave [2010], A Serbian Film or The Human Centipede II.

All these films encountered the same problem at the BBFC's office: scenes with sexualized violence. This is a topic that can be called a somewhat weak spot of the classification board. The same reason now counts for the bloody slasher film DeadTime.

In order to obtain the necessary BBFC 18 rating, distributor 4Digital Media had to remove 12 seconds of a scene that is described by the BBFC as follows:

Cuts required to a scene of sexual and sexualised violence, in this case a woman being stabbed between the legs with a blade. Cuts made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and violence, and the Video Recordings Act 1984.

The censored version of DeadTime arrives in UK stores on May 14th, 2012.
